$1000 Westwood Heritage Society Cheryl Todd Memorial Community Service Scholarship

The Westwood Heritage Society, a volunteer organization that is dedicated to the preservation of the history, beauty and spirit of the Borough of Westwood, has named its Community Service Scholarship to honor the memory of Cheryl Todd – a member of the Society and a co-historian of the Borough, who devoted her life as a volunteer to the research and preservation of the history and heritage of the Borough of Westwood.

The Society awards the Cheryl Todd Memorial Community Service Scholarship to a high school student who is a resident of Westwood, NJ, who is completing his/her senior year, and who has demonstrated a record of volunteer service within the Borough.

The criteria for the Scholarship are:

  • Resident of the Borough of Westwood, NJ
  • High school student in his/her senior year
  • Accepted for enrollment in a post-high school educational program
  • Record of community service related to the preservation of the history, beauty and spirit of Westwood (NJ)
  • An essay (500 ~ 1000 words) explaining how the service related to the preservation of the history, beauty and spirit of Westwood (NJ) has affected the applicant's life
  • Dedicate a minimum of three (3) hours of service time to the Westwood Heritage Society by assisting the Museum archivist, staffing a Saturday Museum Open House, or other related service that is approved by the Scholarship Committee.
  • Attend one (1) or more meetings of the Westwood Heritage Society

In order to be considered for the Scholarship, the student should apply via the Naviance portal.

The deadline for the receipt of the Scholarship application is May 30th, 2026.
